Support Their Projects

Why we need to support the projects of our friends and colleagues.

A few months ago, a friend of mine launched a small business and, I regret to say, I didn't support the business with an order. Frankly, the business was seeking to serve an audience that I felt didn't include me. At least that's what I told myself.

But, in hindsight, I hate that I didn't place an order.

The cost of supporting others' projects is generally small - in some cases free.

Following their page on social media? Free to you - but new followers can be incredibly exciting when building social channels and helps build their profile's credibility.

Liking and sharing their social content? Free to you - but amplifying their content can help future potential customers discover the product/service.

Signing up for their email list? Free to you - but helps you keep up to date with their project and helps them pressure test their email sends.

Checking out their website? Free to you - but gives them more data on how people are exploring their website for future optimization.

Placing an order? Probably a small cost - but they'll be doing a happy dance when a new order is received!

So when people you know are spinning up new projects - lean in. Follow them on social, like/share their content, check out their website, and, best of all, place an order. The cost to you is small - but it'll make a huge difference in their world!

Thanks for spending time with me in my workshop,

Eric
