Ask, Analyze, Answer

Why cyclical analysis is better than linear analysis.

There are two approaches to answering questions: linear and cyclical. Many people find themselves using a linear thought process - even without knowing it.

The way to get better answers (and ask better questions) is to use the cyclical approach. Frame a question, analyze the relevant data sources, answer the question - and then ask a deeper question based on the first answer.

The way to get better answers is generally in taking the time to ensure you’re asking the right question. And the best way to get the best question is to build on an iterative series of previous questions.

So next time you’re asked to answer something, take the time to answer it - and then check whether or not it’s the right question on which to base a decision.

Thanks for spending time with me in my workshop,

Eric
