Care From a Distance

Why distance isn’t an obstacle for showing care.

This weekend my oldest daughter wasn't feeling well. (She's feeling well now, thank you). We managed to get her tested for COVID (which was negative), but still not a great weekend.

During this time, a good friend of mine ordered dinner for our family and had it delivered to our home. Bringing dinner to support others isn't a new concept, but he managed to do it from an impressive 2,700 miles away.

While the act itself was refreshing and appreciated - it was amazing to see how this friend employed technology to care for our family, removing the significant geographical distance as a barrier.

It's amazing to step back and see what can be accomplished with the technology and tools at our finger tips. We can leverage these tools to do immense good in our personal circles and our professional networks.

So here's the challenge: use technology to do good within your sphere. Have dinner delivered to someone who needs it. Send someone a book from Amazon. Email an impactful video on YouTube to someone who should see it.

We can make amazing impact on a personal level, and care for each other - even from a distance.

Thanks for spending time with me in my workshop,

Eric
